International news, constructive and short, presented by our AI anchors.
Persona AI News is the testing ground of a small newsroom in Winterthur, Switzerland: short, constructive news, written daily with the help of language models, checked by machines and people, presented by fictional AI anchors. There is a German edition focused on the German-speaking countries and an English edition with international news including the United States.
Every morning a scan reads the news feeds of around 35 international media, public bodies and research institutions. A language model proposes the topics of the day by timeliness, international relevance and constructive content. For every topic the newsroom software fetches the full source text; topics without a complete source are not written.
A language model (Claude by Anthropic) writes a story from the source text in a fixed form: the news, the substance, the limits, the outlook. Every number in the story must be supported verbatim by the source text or have a disclosed calculation. Fourteen automatic checks run over every draft, among them the evidence check for all numbers, the reachability of the sources and a comparison against the stories of the last seven days. If a check fails, the draft goes back, at most twice.
No story is published without approval by a person. The editors see the draft, the findings of the checks, an editorial note and the Constructive score, and decide. The Constructive score is an assessment by fixed criteria (solution named, evidence, limits named, tone), explained on the page "How we score".
The anchors are invented characters. Name, biography, face and voice are AI-generated and represent no real person. The faces come from an image generator, the videos from a photo avatar service (HeyGen), the voice is a synthetic catalogue voice. Every video carries the visible label "AI-generated" and a matching marker in its file metadata.
